Education
The Fifth-Grade Environmental Education Programs
focus on students from both public and private schools from all over
Oregon. Our mission is to provide a fun, affordable science based
learning experience in the glorious environment of The Oregon Garden.
Field trips for 5th graders are provided at no cost to the schools with
funding coming from the Roth's Benefit-Education Foundation and its
sponsors.
Students are taught a variety of environmental and biological subjects
that take advantage of The Oregon Garden setting and are appropriate to
the age level of the students. These "hands-on" lessons are corelated to
Oregon State science standards and include subjects such as habitat
investigation, animal tracking, birds, aquatic life, insects, wetland
ecology, pollination, plant adaptations and food webs.

trips for over 4,000 K-12 students to explore and discover the wonders
of Oregon's forests. The program is in partnership with the Oregon
Forest Resources Institute and OFRI provides funding for field trips and
bus reimbursments. The forestry education programs provide students an
opportunity to discover the importance of Oregon's forests, see forest
development and understand how forests contribute to our quality of
life,
