See below for a description of one of Jean's lectures: Intuitive Landscape Design

Let the flowing forms in nature be your inspiration in this design exploration workshop. Land, water, sky, rocks; details in leaves and wood can all be starting off points for this process. Line is the focal point of design in this workshop. Several exercises are planned to build your confidence in piecing, color, value, and design skills. Then the emphasis will be on the planning and execution of an original design focusing on a color palette that excites you using inspirational photos that you have brought along. In the end you will have documented your journey in a journal like format and created a one of a kind quilt.

Don't forget to ask Valori on her upcoming fabric line!

"My newest collection of fabrics is called OliveRose and the designs feature roses. Larger than life flowers have been my focus of late. My designs are inspired by nature and my surroundings. Everywhere I go, I carry a camera and sketchbook. In the case of OliveRose, I created the design by using paint to create the life of the flower without it looking exactly like my photographs and sketches."
Valori Wells draws her inspiration from nature, using photography to capture images and scenes she wants to recreate in fabric design and quiltmaking. She is an author for C&T Publishing, creating unique books which stretch the boundaries of traditional quiltmaking. A designer at heart, she sees ideas and is able to capture them in her artistic endeavors. She has become involved in the family business, The Stitchin' Post, in Sisters, Oregon, where she uses her talents in pattern and book design and is involved in the daily running of the business.
