SUMMARY:Garden University: Natural Dyes Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Our world is full of all kinds of natural materials that can used as dyes\, including some insects!  Learn about several of these materials that can be found in the forest and at the store\, and also how to prepare them to make your very own fabric dyes! \nAfter our lesson we will get to dye bandanas with a vibrant magenta dye made from cochineal scale\, which has a very fascinating and ancient history behind its use.  \n__ \nMembers: $35 | General: $45 \nClick HERE to Purchase Tickets \n__ \nAbout the instructor: Heather Andrews is a research entomologist at Oregon State University. She works at a university extension office in Aurora where she studies growing practices in orchard crops that minimize their negative impact on the environment while maximizing yield. In her free time she makes jewelry\, draws and also plays the harp.   \n
