The Sensory Garden is a therapeutic garden that features remarkable scents and textures that exercise the imagination. It includes an in-ground compass, a large wood trellis of Port Orford cedar, and a beautiful rain curtain, 20 feet long and eight feet high. The garden creates an environment for the physically challenged to experience and enjoy nature close up. Located near the Visitor Center, adjacent to the stairway leading to the J. Frank Schmidt Jr. Pavilion. Financial support was provided by Conrad and Murial Stieber with additional assistance by the Oregon Pythians.
