Volunteer

With over 80 acres to maintain and welcoming more than 50,000 guests from Oregon and abroad each year, The Oregon Garden relies on the support and generosity of our volunteers. Oregon Garden volunteers contribute over 12,000 volunteer hours each year in a variety of departments including horticulture, visitor services, education, events and administration.

We welcome individual volunteers – a great way to make new friends – or groups, and can accommodate whatever time commitment you’d like to make, from ongoing weekly shifts to one-time work parties. We would love the opportunity to speak with you about joining our team.

Horticulture

The vast majority of our volunteers are a part of our ongoing “hort crew”, helping our horticulture staff keep the Garden looking great by weeding, pruning, raking and more.

Guest Services

Outgoing individuals are a great fit for a position as a greeter, Visitor Center volunteer or in our retail nursery helping to welcome guests and answering questions.

Events

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with special events by greeting guests, taking admissions, decorating – even pouring beer!

Administration

Help our administrative staff keep things running smoothly behind-the-scenes by assisting with mailings, filing, data entry and other related duties.

Maintenance

For those who like to work with their hands, there’s plenty to be done! Repairing tools, working on small engines, pressure washing and even construction!

Special Projects

We are always thrilled to help volunteers with a special skillset be put to good use – whether that’s giving guided tours, helping care for our bees or writing grants.
