The award-winning A-Mazing Water Garden is a living work of art which masterfully knits together a diverse and vibrant ecosystem with top tier landscape architecture. Designed by Portland-based landscape architects Mayer/Reed, it incorporates features ponds criss-crossed with the paths that give it its name, a beautiful bridge from which to view wildlife, and a cascading water wall.
This botanical haven deftly combines wildlife habitat and wastewater treatment, functions which are traditionally kept separate. In 2002 the A-Mazing Water Garden received an Honor Award in the area of Environmental and Sustainable Design from the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. It is a shining example of how gardens can serve multiple purposes and, when thoughtfully crafted, meet the needs of people, animals and the community.
