Garden University: Haiku and Nature

September 19 @ 11:00 am

Natalie DaSilva, a Certified Oregon Naturalist with a lifelong interest in haiku, is coming to The Oregon Garden to guide you through writing a fall-inspired haiku, using nature and your surroundings as your inspiration – there is no experience needed, beginners are welcome!

The Oregon Garden in the fall is an ideal place to explore the connection between traditional Japanese Haiku poetry and the wonders of nature! Explore our Garden and the many different species of trees that are within that are transitioning into the Fall season. In this workshop, participants will learn about the centuries-old tradition of connecting with nature through a short and simple form of poetry. Natalie will be sharing her own haiku poems and nature photos as a part of this workshop, and will also guide participants through trying their own hand at writing haiku.

Pens & paper will be provided.
