Tram Tours

The Oregon Garden’s tram is a unique experience that provides an approximately 20-minute narrated tour of the Garden grounds, providing an overview of some of our property’s most special highlights and offering an accessible way to see our expansive acreage.

Our tram leaves the Visitor Center every 30 minutes, with the first tour at 10:30am and last at 3:30pm. The tram seats up to 42 people. Seats are first-come, first-served. The tram is open to all garden guests during these hours and we are not able to guarantee your group private use of the tram.

Guided Tours

The Oregon Garden does not have dedicated docents, which means guided tours are led by staff from various departments as their schedules allow. We make every effort to accommodate guided tour requests but please note that availability is limited during the summer season, especially weekends. When we are able to offer them, guided tours last between 30 and 45 minutes and cover the Garden’s history, highlights and current projects. There is a guided tour fee of $50 per 25 guests. Note that groups larger than this have a hard time hearing the tour guide. Guided tours involve a significant amount of walking – groups whose members have mobility limitations are encouraged to consider a tram tour instead.

School Groups

The Oregon Garden is a fun and exciting place for hands-on learning, and we love welcoming school groups of all ages, from preschoolers to college students. School group pricing is the same as listed above – however, teachers and adult chaperones of school groups are admitted at no cost. We require at least one adult chaperone for every five children under the age of 18.

At this time, the Garden is unable to provide guided tours or lessons for school groups. We are, however, happy to provide suggestions for age-appropriate lessons, activities and materials when available. Please let us know if we can assist in planning your visit!
