Request a Donation
Each year, The Oregon Garden receives hundreds of donation requests from deserving organizations, locally and beyond Oregon, all with valid and pressing needs. Though we regret that we cannot provide support to everyone, we do our best to fairly consider each application we receive and to assist whenever possible.
The Oregon Garden evaluates the following factors when determining which requests will be granted:
- Organizational mission. Priority is given to organizations who share a mission in alignment with that of the Garden, including the focus areas of horticulture, agriculture, conservation, sustainability and wildlife.
- Location. Priority is given to organizations operating within 60 miles of Silverton, Oregon, with an emphasis on the Willamette Valley.
- Past donations. In an effort to fulfill the most requests possible, we typically do not donate to an organization in consecutive years.
We ask that you please follow the guidelines below when requesting a donation.
- All requests must be received at least 6 weeks in advance of the date for which they are needed.
- All donation requests must be submitted online using our Donation Request Form, below.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- We do not provide cash donations.
- All donations expire 1 year from the event date.
- Due to the volume of requests we receive, we regret that we are unable to inform applicants of the status of their application.
If we are able to fulfill your request, you will be contacted with what is being donated and the donated items will be mailed directly to the address you provide.
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we are unable to respond to follow-ups or provide information on the status of a request. If you do not receive a response from us within two weeks of submitting your request, unfortunately, we were not able to fulfill your request at this time.
