Garden University: Wilderness First Aid Skills

Diane Vireday, a Red Cross CPR Instructor and Herbal Medic, is partnering with The Oregon Garden to teach guests the basics of first aid for everyday ailments while camping, out in the woods, or in a disaster situation. This fun, informative, and thorough session will give you the first skills to treat bleeding, burns, broken bones, and other injuries while waiting for the paramedics. Attendees will take home home a wilderness first aid starter pack, as well!
Attendance at this workshop provides partial credit towards full certification in Wilderness First Aid (a $75 value).

Diane Vireday has been an herbalist for over 20 years, an EMT, and is an instructor for the American Red Cross in CPR, BLS, WFA and other classes. She grew up in the Southwest, and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest during college in Portland, and raised two wonderful sons here. She has had a varied career, such as starting a Swiss bakery for a farmer’s market, and also has been an herbalist for over 20 years and had an herb farm with over 100 medicinals and dye plants.
